Together We Rise: BCPD’s Relief and Recovery Initiatives
After the earthquake struck our community on September 30, another devastating calamity followed soon after—the onslaught of Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi), which hit Cebu in early November. The typhoon brought heavy rains and severe flooding that disrupted lives and livelihoods.

In the aftermath of the storm, Banilad Center for Professional Development (BCPD) immediately mobilized its efforts to extend support to its students and their families, as well as to other affected members of the community. Students who lacked access to basic necessities were provided with assistance to help meet their immediate needs. At the same time, the school visited evacuation centers to distribute food and drinking water to families seeking temporary shelter. Through these collective efforts, those affected by the typhoon were reminded that they were not alone during this difficult time.

Beyond relief goods, BCPD took the initiative to provide housing materials to its students and their families. These materials were intended to help them rebuild their homes, even in modest, functional shelters. The distribution of housing materials served as a reminder that BCPD’s support goes beyond immediate relief and continues through the recovery process.

The school expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and benefactors who generously shared their resources, time, and compassion. Their continued support made these relief and recovery efforts possible and brought hope to many families during a time of great need. Because of their kindness, our students and their families were reminded that they are not alone in facing life’s challenges.
Through every storm, BCPD stands with its students—bringing help, hope, and reassurance wherever they may be.
